FUN FACTS ABOUT OUR PUMPKIN FRIENDS:
**It's orange! Do you know what that means? Lots of betacarotene which is a carotenoid that when consumed turns into Vitamin A in the body and has antioxidant properties.
**It's not only good for the eyes...but the immune system, mood regulation, and protecting the body against cancer,heart disease and skin damage.
**Please if you are buying pumpkin in a can make sure it says 100% pumpkin on it. Check the ingredients there should be only pumpkin and no sugar. You do not want to buy Pumpkin Pie Filling!
PUMPKIN PIE SMOOTHIE
|BUY 100% PUMPKIN! THE OTHER STUFF IS FULL OF YUCKIES|
-1/3 or 1/2 cup pumpkin (depends how thick you like it)*You can either used 100% pumpkin from a can or bake your own pumpkin and blend it.
-2/3 or 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk *please make your own..it's so easy!
-2 tbsp raw honey, maple syrup, xylitol *or* 5 fresh dates.
-1 tsp vanilla
-1 tsp pumpkin pie spice - mix the spices below and keep for other pumpkin occasions.
(2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg).
1) Blend all of the ingredients together and enjoy! If you want it thicker than put 1/2 cup pumpkin 1/2 cup almond milk. If you want it more liquidy put 1/3 cup pumpkin 2/3 cup almond milk. If it is a hot hot day then add a few ice cubes and blend.
