I've decided that from time to time I am going to post breakfast ideas. These will range from the breakfasts that look and taste super healthy to the breakfasts that do not look or taste super healthy but miraculously are very good for you. To kick it off I have decided to go with a staple breakfast of mine - pumpkin spiced quinoa porridge and my purely green juice. Both of these items look and taste very healthy (in a good way)! This makes a wonderful breakfast - do not be frightened by all the ingredients on the table in the picture above. The picture is just to show how diverse breakfast can really be. You have your grains, your veggies, your healthy fats, your protein and all the goodness in between. Please keep in mind that green juice takes a little while to get used to...I've been drinking it for so long now that I actually crave it :P....mind you it took me a while to get to that stage.
What will you need to make this power house breakfast you ask? Here we go....

-1/4 cup dry quinoa cooked
-1/2 tsp nutmeg
-1/2 tsp cinnamon
-1/2 tsp ground cloves
-1 tbsp sweetener of choice (stevia, raw honey, maple syrup)
-1 tbsp coconut oil
-1 tbsp hemp hearts
-1/4 to 1/2 cup almond milk
1) Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. That's it!

*NOTE: You can make this juice even if you don't have a juicer by blending the cucumbers in a blender with a little bit of water and then adding the rest of the veggies and processing until everything is mixed. Then squeeze the mixture through a nut milk bag and voila - juice!
-4 sticks of celery
-1 large cucumber
-5 leaves black kale (or other variety)
-1 handful spinach
-1 handful coriander
-1 lemon
-3 inches ginger
-optional (add an apple to sweeten a bit)
1) Juice all of the ingredients or follow the blending instructions above.
2) Strain juice through a nut milk bag or other fine mesh strainer if needed.
3) Drink up this pure green goodness~!

So shake things up a bit - try making a breakfast that will really kick start your day!
